What is your role within Happy Jobs NI?

My position with Happy Jobs NI is Business Development Manager. My main role is to generate sales & business opportunities, and in the process develop long-term client relationships. I’m not an island though, my role is heavily dependent on working with my account managers & directors to deliver. It’s a two-way process.

How long have you been working with Happy Jobs NI?

I’ve been with Happy Jobs NI for one year and four months. It was a very exciting time to have joined Happy Jobs during the early stages of business development and being part of its growth with clients and team and its success to date.

What do you love about working for Happy Jobs NI?

I love the flexibility that Happy Jobs NI offers me so I can experience a work-life balance. What I like about my role is that it's ultimately about supporting our clients in finding the right fit of employee and being able to offer them a quality but cost-effective service during this very difficult climate. Every hour of every day is different, I get a lot of job satisfaction from talking to our clients, and from the rapport we have as a team.

How did your career path take you to the recruitment industry/What’s your background?

I went to university to study Business and IT. I have worked in both IT and other sectors for over 25 years as an account manager & sales business development. I have been very fortunate to transfer my skill set, experience and my love of working with people while continuing to offer a creditable, cost effective & return of investment solution. I took some time out when my son was born and did some freelancing on the side. Now he’s a teenager and I was ready to fly my own wings once again into full-time work – and guess what? my dream job arrives, and I see Happy Jobs NI are looking for a Business Development Manager; it was the perfect position!

What is your favourite quote?

“Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realise they were the big things.” —Robert Brault

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

My dad always told me to take time for nature, enjoy everything in moderation, and to be myself. This advice has always stuck with me.
